Wood & Clay

"One":  20" long Tantric sculpture carved from a walnut branch.

"Georgia O'Keefe Has Left"  18" tall carving from driftwood reclaimed from Lake Michigan.

"Engulfed in the Black Flame of her Golden Beauty."   17" Clay sculpture with enamel paint set in a 28" by 14"  pine and masonite box decorated in an Art Noveau fashion, utilizing wood burning and pastels.  Designed to set in a window with direct and indirect Sunlight to create glow and reflections in the gloss black and gold that changes as the sun changes.  Like gold, beautiful, yet cold; the piece is a poke at those who place too much emphasis on physical, often lifeless  beauty.

My current focus is of the Earth and the true Nature of reality.  All my sculptures are made from elements of the planet: clay and reclaimed wood.

It started in 2011 with a Dremel and a piece of wood and has come to this: part of my journey to get back to "the garden."
