On The Altar of Love

Set upon the altar of love, waiting    
      to be lusted  (more)

Neither is sacrificed, yet
    both sacrifice
Giving to the other, receiving
    without taking
Both are the yellow rose, and scattered
    red petals
On the stem, blooming
    then scattered
The yellow rose has lusted and
been lusted
The altar is scattered with the ashes
    of love.
To be consumed so,
    by love
